Looking for Inspiration For Grit, Tenacity and Survival to Help You Ring in THIS New Year?

© Pamela Hartle Little did I know at the time that this tree would never be the same.  The Lone Cypress in Pebble Beach, California has and always will be a symbol of grit and tenacity, firmly entrenched in its curious base which is surprisingly impenetrable granite. Not only is this Monterey Cypress native to only one other place in the world, but this one has maintained its rocky rooting for about 250 years. It's been dubbed the most photographed tree in the world" but there will never again be a shot of it in later years that looks like this.  I took this photo January 2, 2013 at sunset to capture it at its best. The best way to do that was to partner with Mother Nature to show the sun enhanced fluctuating wave pattern of Carmel Bay and this unique trees rugged base to portray why it’s earned its name and reputation. Fall Coast to Coast in the US For a Nature Photographer Frustrated in a Pandemic World

  2020 will be on record for undoubtedly one of the most challenging and unusual years for all of us, with many of us unable to travel.  But we are a resilient bunch, and so we are taking more time to explore and make new discoveries in our great outdoors.    What better time than Fall to make new and beautiful discoveries, forge new bonds, and make irreplaceable memories.  Whether I'm exploring the  Blue Ridge Parkway in the east or making my way through the rugged terrain of the west, Mother Nature always helps me through difficult times. A shy nubbin buck peeks cautiously out from behind an apple tree where he spent the day enjoying fallen apples and a few up in the tree, as high as his small young legs could take him   I'm always surprised and enamored with the beauty of the BRP, and this area in Bedford, Virginia ranks at the top of my list for favorites to hike and photograph, or just to relax and revel in the beauty of it all.  Here on Lake...
